Hey, I’m Barrett Brooks. It’s nice to meet you!
All the way back in August 2011 I founded Living for Monday, a company on a mission to develop purpose-driven leaders and organizations. We (the L4M team) think the current system is broken — graduates and young professionals use false criteria to choose their careers, and organizations hire based on incomplete and impersonal data. We’re going to change that by helping people find passionate work and helping purpose-driven organizations recruit, hire, and fire based on their ‘why.’
Personally, I’m a values-driven guy with a why of changing the world, one life at a time. I live by six maxims or values: have faith; invest in family; live with integrity; have the courage to lead; strive for excellence; pursue passion.
In my free time, I learn. I learn everything I can through books, people, and experiences. My family, girlfriend, and dogs support me in all that I do. I love spending time at my family’s mountain house and getting outdoors as much as possible. I build meaningful relationships by listening really hard and asking intriguing questions. I love to travel and I’m building a business in part to help me do just that. I satisfy my competitive nature with a friendly game of basketball or softball on occasion.
Overall, I’m just trying to live a purposeful and fulfilling life… Not only that, but I plan on changing the world in the process.

Well said, Barrett! I am so glad you were at the ODK retreat. It’s exciting to actually be a witness to the first steps of someone’s choice to break from the traditional in search of the unconventional. Wishing you all the best!
Thanks Bethany – I appreciate you reading and I had a blast at the ODK retreat! Please let me know if I can ever do anything for you or if you want to catch up!
