I’ve thought long and hard about how I want to kick this year off on the blog. I want this post to be the standard for things to come. It needs to make you want to tell a friend to come read. Last year, I started the year off by showing my disdain for New Year’s resolutions.
This year on the blog is going to be different in three main ways. 1) The site will be transferred to Masteringpurpose.com in the first quarter. 2) I will write shorter posts with more punch. And 3) When I write a longer post, it will be very well-thought out and/or well-researched to make the material worth your time.
Today, I have a simple question for you: Have you set goals for 2011 and/or made resolutions about how you want to change your life? If so, good. I think goals are great tools, and if resolutions work for you, I encourage you to go for it.
More important than simply stating our goals is determining to do something to make them happen. So what can you do today to take one step towards accomplishing your goals or living the life outlined in your resolutions? Today might be the last day of vacation for the holidays, but it is still a day of 2012. The longer we put off our goals through excuses, the less likely we are to make them happen.
Today, I’m going to the chiropractor, which moves me towards my personal goal of maintaining great health practices. I’ll also write the first of three parts of my next eBook, which moves me towards having a seminal product in my business to hang my hat on. I mentioned both of those goals and more in my 2012 goals post. I’m doing these things because I want to get serious about living life intentionally this year, and I hope you’ll join me on the journey.
What is one of your goals for the new year? What will you do today to work towards it? And how could I help you get there? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
